6th Grade News

The 6th grade does not give '0' grades. The minimum grade a student can receive is a 50%. If you find that your child has received this grade, it most likely means that nothing was handed in for that assignment.

What We Are Studying This Week
Social Studies: |
China Test/Economy of the Silk Road Begin ancient Greece |
Language Arts: |
Grammar – begin working with Pronouns Poetry – using sound and figurative language devices to write poetry. Students should be finalizing their choice of poem for oral presentations. Presentations begin on March 22. |
Science: |
Next week we will be starting our 6th Grade Standards for Conservation of Energy. No details are available at this time. In anticipation of Terra Nova testing, there will be more of a focus on class work and less on homework. |
Math: |
Lesson 6-4 Adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators Lesson 13-4 – Two-dimensional figures |
Reading: |
Comprehension skills using short stories REMINDER – Reading logs are due on Tuesday for B-days and Wednesdays for A-days |
