This week is Terra Nova week, and we had to make a new schedule to accomodate the testing. So here is this week's schedule.
The Greek salad in SS class was such a success that we decided to put the recipe in the newsletter.
PTA is trying to get all parents involved members of their great organization. Here is the membership form so you may help support this great organization as it helps our school.
The 6th grade does not give '0' grades. The minimum grade a student can receive is a 50%. If you find that your child has received this grade, it most likely means that nothing was handed in for that assignment.

What We Are Studying This Week
Social Studies: |
Geography of Greece and the rise of Greek city-states |
Language Arts: |
Poetry, poetry, and more poetry! We are working on writing and enjoying poetry, and we will begin working on our poem collage. Poetry presentations will begin on March 22 & 23. |
Science: |
This coming week the kids will be assembling and testing Soda Can Tractors in their introduction to Simple Machines, Work, Energy, and Friction. In addition, kids are continuing to check with me on the progress of their LongTerm Investigations. If working on schedule, each student should be finished with the idea, background research, paragraph summary of the background research, the hypothesis, and beginning the list of Materials and steps of Methods. (no tests or quizzes) |

Mr. Wood is not the only one who can teach History! Want to know more about Pythagoras, Aristotle and Euclid? Hint: They were Great Greek Mathematicians! That is our topic for next week. |
